Study Finds Economic Development Through Eagle Ford Shale

Posted: May 10th, 2012 | in General

The University of Texas at San Antonio has released a recent study conducted by The Center for Community and Business Research concerning the Eagle Ford Shale’s economic impact.

The Eagle Ford Shale is an area in South Texas covering hundreds of miles, thus, providing large amounts of crude to be turned into useful oil. This resource has seen much growth over the years.

The university reported that the Eagle Ford Shale is “one of the biggest new drivers of growth in Texas.” If you plan on drilling in the Eagle Ford Shale, it is important to protect your equipment.

Eagle Ford Shale Drilling

Posted: May 10th, 2012 | in General

Though Alaska and North Dakota are known for their large production of oils, Texas has long been a site for oil production as well. In the Eagle Ford Shale, hundreds of miles sit atop crude.

The close of 2012 can produce an average of 500,000 barrels of oil per day, while the United States uses 19 million barrels per day, according to an article on Investors.com.

The oil in Eagle Ford Shale is in good condition making it easier to refine and supply. However, getting to the oil requires the proper equipment. Contact Phoenix Chemical Technologies for corrosion inhibitors to protect your oil drilling equipment at 361-237-1181.

Funding Opportunities for Eagle Ford Shale Drillers

Posted: February 24th, 2012 | in Uncategorized

Loans will be tangible for oil producers who have proved to maintain promising progress in the Eagle Ford Shale. It was announced at seminars held by Texas Alliance of Energy Producers that a scope of energy companies are looking to invest in energy ventures, news reports explained.

Reports said there is a large market in southern states where drilling has proved to be more prosperous.

The drilling companies who have maintained a promising track record have an upper hand with potential investors.

Investing in drilling in the Eagle Ford Shale may require a better look at equipment. Contact Phoenix Chemical Technologies at 361-433-5182 for information.

Eagle Ford Shale Welcomes More Projects

Posted: February 24th, 2012 | in Uncategorized

In mid February, Energy Transfer Partners of Dallas publicized plans to add two natural gas ventures located in various Texas land, including the thriving Eagle Ford Shale area.

This project to build pipeline processing facilities will cost $210 million, including a collaborative initiative with Regency Energy Partners to build a natural gas liquids fraction base, reports explained.

The first facility will likely be completed at the end of this year, while the second is estimated to finish some time in 2014.

Phoenix Chemical Technologies can help you learn more about the opportunities on Eagle Ford Shale. Contact our team at 361-433-5182 for information.

Mother Nature Stops Oil Production in Kuwait

Posted: February 9th, 2012 | in General

Due to a severe sand storm in Kuwait, the country stopped its oil production. Eventually production operations were resumed after the weather cleared.

Natural disasters and its effects are beyond our control. However, there is something we can prevent and that is corrosion.

Corrosion is a natural chemical reaction that elements of nature have on metal and machinery. Probably one of the most popular problems among refineries and oil rigs since they are exposed to extreme weather elements year round.

Every year, the United States loses billion’s of dollars in damages, loss of capital, and loss of reliability caused by corrosion and it’s harmful effects.

With the right maintenance and adequate products, corrosion can be prevented or controlled.

2012 Expects $1 trillion in Costs of Corrosion

Posted: February 3rd, 2012 | in Uncategorized

According to a recent study made by the National Association of Corrosion Engineers, NACE, the estimated loss due to corrosion the United States will suffer in 2012 will be of an approximate amount of $1 trillion.

As the years go by, the cost in capital, due to corrosion damages has been augmenting. In 1998, the total indirect cost of corrosion was 3.1% of GDP, or $936.2 billion. Based on this numbers, if the estimated growth of the GDP is of 3.1%, then the total cost for 2012 will be $1 trillion.

Hydrogen sulfide scavengers (H2S)

Posted: December 29th, 2011 | in General

Hydrogen sulfide must be removed from natural gas before it reaches consumers. In order to do this, oil production companies must add an H2S Scavenger during oil production to remove sulfur emission.

H2S Scavengers improve environmental, health and safety compliances. Many oil drilling companies are turning to this cost effective alternative to prevent hydrogen sulfide corrosion.

Corrosion Inhibitors

Posted: December 29th, 2011 | in General

Large and small oil production and drilling companies are turning to an innovative solution for preventing rust and damage to equipment and metal pipes.

Corrosion inhibitors are used as an additive to coolants, fuels, engine oil, and others depending on the industry to prevent corrosion and damage that would otherwise cause harm during production. This could be very detrimental to a business, which is why it is highly recommended to use corrosion inhibitors.
